bmap-tools software package provides tool to flash image files to block devices using the block map, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install bmap-tools
bmap-tools is installed in your system.
Make ensure the bmap-tools package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep bmap-tools *
You will get with bmap-tools package name, version, architecture and description in a table
